Canada Inbound Seafood Trade Mission to Maryland, North Carolina and Virginia

Monday June 4 - Friday June 8, 2018

Maryland, North Carolina, and Virginia

Canada is the second largest export market for U.S fishery products and exports reached a record value of $1 billion in 2016, increasing 11.5% from 2015 and representing 20% of total U.S. exports of fishery products. Combined U.S. agricultural, fishery and forestry product exports to Canada were $23.8 billion. Canada relies heavily on imported food products due to its limited growing season; therefore the Canadian market relies on the U.S. for increased varieties of seafood. SUSTA companies with seafood that cater to various ethnic palates and health conscientious consumers have potential to do well in this market.

Take advantage of this opportunity to meet qualified buyers from Canada and hopefully export to a market with a lot of benefits set out in the NAFTA provisions such as duty free treatment. In addition, SUSTA is offering the opportunity to meet with Canadian buyers, importers and distributors. This inbound trade mission has great potential for U.S companies wishing to network and establish business relations with seafood-industry professionals from Canada.
